Frequently Asked Questions

  • How is CranioSacral Therapy performed?

A typical CST session is done with the client fully clothed laying on a padded massage table or perhaps in the seated position.  Through gentle touch the therapist monitors the rhythm of the fluid flowing around the central nervous system.  Gentle manual techniques facilitate the release of restrictions in the tissues of the head and body which helps improve the function of the central nervous system.  These sessions are typically deeply relaxing.  Sessions can last a few minutes to over an hour.  CranioSacral Therapy can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with other therapies.

  • What is the format of the May 2024 Comprehensive Therapy Program (CTP)?

Each day starts at 9am with a meeting for clients, therapists and other supporting staff. The purpose of the first meeting is introductions and the purpose of the following days' meetings will be to discuss the previous day's sessions. There is a lunch break each day.  The treatment sessions typically end around 3:30pm or 4pm.  Each client being treated will be treated by 2 - 4 therapists at a time.  Generally there are 30 - 40 therapists involved in a CTP.

  • How can I get involved?

Donations of funds - We are raising funds to help with scholarships for veterans to attend the program in Salt Lake City May 2024. When this program happens at the Upledger Institute, there is a foundation that helps cover some of the costs. However, the program happening in Salt Lake City is not eligible to receive those funds. It costs $3600 per veteran to put on the program. Our intention is to raise enough funds to cover the program costs (except the initial registration of $500).
